Darren the blog and the pictures have been terrific and engaging. Your fretfulness about the hill tribe trek is thoughtful and provoked much conversation and thinking at this end between my partner and me. An appropriate time to quote the Enlightened One given your ruminations on the topic; "We are formed and molded by our thoughts. Those whose minds are shaped by selfless thoughts give joy when they speak or act. Joy follows them like a shadow that never leaves them."

Food pics are all great (I wouldn't have noticed the shadow issue had you not pointed it out). Curious if peanut/peanut sauce make up any of the offerings you've encountered.

Ye Olde Buddha is a great shot (better than anything I saw on Flickr) so congrats and thanks.

Appreciate all the posting efforts you've gone through and am watching/following blog closely.

By way of wishing you continued luck in your travels, quoting the Enlightened One again - "There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting."

Best regards - Brady

thanks brady, i'm glad you're enjoying the blog, it's been a good challenge for me to continue to keep it up especially as i get more into the travel groove and have less time alone =P you're helping me keep the drive up and i much appreciate it

speaking of the buddah, i went to an overnight meditation retreat which, while not enlightening, was enlightening. i think you'll know what i mean.

hope all is well,
